Hi,I broke my arm a few years ago just before a holiday,i bought a caste protector for swimming,it is made of a plastic material and worked perfectly. The local hospital gave me a phone number of where to purchase the protector from,it was quite expensive but definetly worth it.

I'm wondering if you would need to inform your insurance company in these circumstances just in case the cast might break or need to be removed and replaced for any reason.

Hope it doesn't spoil the little chaps holiday Steve.

You are right, i informed them this morning, and they are going to get in touch with the underwriters about it, i have to have the cast split because of the air pressure in the airplane and i need a fit to fly note from the hospital.

I'm seeing the hospital on friday as he is having another xray and a smaller cast so i'll hopefully get the note then.

cheers
