This although not a CL is looking good for 3 nights on my piscatorial tour of the UK

Hi Briar et al

Won't be going as far now for these reasons

A/ the Doctor won't let me travel that far alone

B/ the money won't stretch to that many nights on commercial sites

C/ I feel blooming rough

Anybody got any CHEAP Ideas in Nottinghamshire apart from Trentfield at Laneham got that booked at £8 a night

The Orchards, at Hubberts Bridge, just outside Boston, has coarse fishing on site. We haven`t stayed there, we actually live in Boston, but relatives who`ve stayed there speak highly of it.
Going further down the country, Newberry Farm at Combe Martin in N. Devon, has it`s own fishing lake on site, and is also a very nice site.

Just wish I felt better and could get there's loads of sites to visit and so little money to pay out

just wish some folk who run these places would realise we are not all sticking rich

an example would be

£17.50 a night pitch (for up to 5 people no discount for one person)
£7.50 a day fishing for one rod 2 rods £9 night fishing extra

they also have a "club" and you have to pay membership to get in


My budget for this is
£100 fuel (full tank will tow for 300 miles at £65 a tank)

£100 fishing tackle and bait (£85 spent on replacing worn out and missing tackle already)

£100 site fees/day ticket fees (£40 is earmarked for Trentfield Farm)

so a you can see I really need CL's that are Cheap
