Have a look at : http://www.wintersunshineholidays.com as well.
Despite their name, they do summer ones too.

I'm doing a DIY for the first time this year and booked through alpharooms, I have to say they've been brilliant and booking was so easy with them, we had to change our original booking with them due to circumstances and it was so easy to do and they only charged £10 to do so.

I had read some bad reviews on them after I'd booked and I was a little aprehensive, we are due to fly out on Wednesday so I e-mailed the apartments direct that we booked and they have confirmed my booking today so they get a big :tup from me :D

shell,
Good luck with your first d.i.y. holiday - you'll never look back afterwards.
Please don't think I'm being patronizing, but have you remembered to organise your transfers from and to the airport abroad ? I don't know why, but it's the main thing that people tend to overlook when going d.i.y. for the first time. :)

Hi Sagres, it's kind of you to check but yes I've got them all booked ready and the e-mails printed off with the contact number and the original quote they gave me, reckon I got a good deal. I'll be well chuffed if it all goes without a hitch as it was me that booked it all.

Thanks again :D

shell,
It's always a bit nerve-racking the first couple of times, but that's natural,I suppose. Have a great holiday, and welcome to the world of d.i.y.
:) :)

shell,
The first time we went d.i.y., the hotel was so cheap (booked through alpharooms)that I had already e-mailed another hotel to make sure they had vacancies if the alpharooms one wasn't good enough. This year will be our fourth year back at the alpharooms hotel-it was that good !! Hope your experience will be just as good. :)

Sagres I don't think you can go wrong with alpharooms. Our original booking was for a 2 bed apartment and we got it for £1200 for two weeks S/C. I could have booked the same apartment through Thomson I think it was and it would have cost £945 per person x 4 I know that includes flights but I would still have saved a packet :D

bookings.org were good for me. They reserve your accommodation, but you pay the hotel on departure. I scored for an upgrade from the 4* Elba Sara to the 5* Fuerteventura Sheraton recently.

These seem to be the cheapest around that I can see and I've searched for weeks, days hours etc .... :)
