We went a couple of years ago and there were only 2 rows of beds, plenty space and no hawkers. There is a Taverna right on the beach and a hotel/restaurant opposite that. You are 150 yards away from the main road, with a little roadside bar that was clled Piggies.

Olives you will get on Papadiamatis Street in Skiathos town.

Sarah, i stayed in Troulos 3 years ago and loved it. A really laid beack resort. I am going back in September and am also staying at the La Luna. It looks really nice and would love to hear what you think of it when you return. The snorkelling at Troulos is excellent and the beach is very safe and shelves away very gently.
As parky says, the sunbeds are very spaced out so you shouldn't have any problems at all......................and there were definately no hawkers! Enjoy your stay!

Troulos beach - how close together are the sunbeds and shades? Are they spaced out much?

Plenty of room earlier but as its peak season they may be closer together, There will be alot of Italians on the island through August but they tend to go to Koukounaries and arrive by boat around 10.30ish
Troulos is mainly brits and locals on the weekend.

What is the Snorkelling like there, does the sea get deep quickly.

There is some great snorkelling round the rocks on Troulos, Vromillos, and if you get the boat from town to Arkos and Tsougria. Watch the currents at Troulos if you swim offshore as the offshore Island affects them. Beach slelves on North coast at Asselinos but if you get an onshore wind at Troulos go to Asselinos it will be calm - you will think you are in the caribbean. Great snorkelling at left of beach round the rocks with underwater sea caves

Do you get many people coming round to sell you stuff? Don't mind drinks fruit etc but not jewellery etc.

Couple of guys selling CD's but no problem

Where is the best place to buy fresh olives to bring back for a gift for some friends?

Asturias supermarket sold by the kilo which is on the ring road about 300 yards up from the Skiathos bus terminal.
Jars of olives in the gift shop top of Papa D st
