Went to sea club last year, I was in block A which was best for small children, our friends were in block C which was close to the kids club. My sister and her family were in block D overlooking the pool. This is where we spent most of our time. The breakfast in the bar was fab. It seemed a lot quieter than the other pools plus you had a play park and ping pong tables right next to pool. Ok, it was a short walk to the main block - wear Mozzi spray! going past canals get well bit! Cut through block C much quicker. I wouldn't worry if I was placed in this block. We had a great time there. There was a couple of attempted breakins on the first floor apartments in block A, due to gypsies that pass through - (September), but security were seen patrolling throughout the night after that was reported. Guess that can happen anywhere these days!

German bar was the best food - also the dragon chinese restaurant was amazing. Hope you have a fab time!

Hi there
Where are you staying? Sea club 1 or 2? I have been to the Sea Club2 3 times. It is nice enough but sea club 1 as it is a german, scandinavian place is better, nicer pool, microwave, air conditioning. They are both about 500m from the beach and are both generally far away from the noisy bars and clubs! When we stayed there last in 2003 it had just been taken under new management and was a shambles in our opinion. We were woke every night in our 14 nights by noisy people in the pool at about 4am. Security even when I phoned to complain did nothing about this!! I'm sure this doesnt happen all the time but maybe something to be aware of.

Hi Helen, hope you got my PM. Sea Club is great. The German bar mentioned is probably Tamarindo...pricey but worth it and they serve Estrella Damm (sweet nectar!).

Block A was were I stayed too right beside the kids paddling pool, 30 seconds took you to the main pool for the block (each block has it's own pool) and the volley ball court is there too along with a kids climbing frame / slide (our 4 yr old loved it!), itis also very handy for the shop which also isn't bad.

The bar in block A (The Tropical Bar I think it is called) is very good for food, didn't actually eat in the restaurant, preferred to go out and about most nights.

The grounds are very well kept and there is a First Choice kids club and also the apartments have their own entertainers with a kids program during the day and mini-disco at night (only 30 minutes and the same somgs everynight but it took our boy all week to get to grips with the songs...had to go out and buy "Follow the leader" when we got home!)

The only down side is if you are not in Block B (Closest to reception) then you will probably have a bit of a trek to get to your room (or at least it seems like that at the time!)

If you do go there I have no doubt you will enjoy it, I would go back in a shot!

We stopped in Sea Club last year - thought it was fab! Wrote a thread under sea club (few topics up) describing all different blocks - Sea Club 1 and Sea Club 2 are now one and the same - It's just Sea Club now.

Estrella Damm was the beer served in Tamarindo, no idea where else served it (but the Krombacher in Luna's was pretty good too!)

It's right, Sea Club 1 and Sea Club 2 are now combined under the one title of Sea Club Resort.
