No.
When I was in Stalis August /September last year I never once needed a jacket or jumper
Deffo nothing even slightly wintery need...
i'm going to the same area 19th sept- 3rd oct, will i need something for the evening.
If you take a jacket, your wife will be able to stand in front of you and fan you with it.
I didn't take a jacket. What a mistake!
just returned from the island this morning, they are in the middle of a heatwave and you will certainly not need anything for the evenings, in fact it was oppresive at times sorry to say and the heat was unbelievable, just hope for a breeze !!
take things slowly slowly, avoid walking around during the day, stay in pool/sea as much as possible, stay in the room and use the a/c.
also try not to eat a lot at lunch time and have a sleep at around 14:00-17:00 as we do to cool down a bit.
also you will notice that we like to stay for a couple of hours just drinking our coffee in a coffee shop......do the same.....
best or worst thing i have ever seen (depending the way you see it). an old man around 80ish. dressed up with his good sunday cloths sitting for hours in a bank. when he was asked what he is waiting for, he just replied that his home has no a/c so he just spends his morning there as its better.
thats exactly what we did, even the locals were feeling the heat in stalis last week, one day we got the wind from the north which everyone hailed as a savior. the air con was worth every bit the 6 euros per day. we will return to crete for a 4th time next year but hopefully in june.
We're just back from Hersonissos and it was 42 degs yesterday. During the evening it dropped to 31.
