We went in June and found the beach front and area was not cleaned as well as it usually was. There was no sign of the large tractor that cleaned the beach on a night in previous years, only half a dozen or so cleaners with grab sticks and bin liners.
Also noticed that the litter bins in the streets always seemed to be full to the brim.
It is a pity that many tourists choose to discard their waste any where they feel like it without disposing of it in a waste bin or taking it back to their hotel and disposing of it there.
Considering Beni is a very large, VERY popular Seaside Holiday Resort, attracting millions of tourists every year, I do not think that the rubbish or state of the streets is really all that bad.
The streets are cleared early every morninf of discarded fast food containers etc etc.
thanks for your replys when we were there last year you used to see them cleaning all shop fronts mopping ect my friends didnt see any of that
as far as the beach is concerned, that is cleaned thoroughly everynight
Hi Gary,
When we were there in June, there was no evidence of a tractor being on the beach. We certainly didn't see a one and when we went down there on a morning there were no tell tale signs. There were half a dozen women litter picking a few hours each evening but didn't do as good a job as Tractor Tom
Perhaps you can help us on this one Sanji.

Hi Cazz.....yes I was referring to the beach tractor thingy....have often seen it out late on the evenings, but maybe it no longer operates based on your more recent experience of Beni to mine?. Maybe Beni has been subject to some recent cut backs? Certainly sounds like it if all you saw were a few ladies hand-picking litter.
well I came back 3 days ago, and I saw the tractor on the beach a few nights cleaning the sand
Tractor was certainly up and running in May. Am going again next week will check then!
He must have been on holiday when we were there then.
This is a load of in all the time I have been to Benidorm I have never ever failed to see the beach cleaned and the tractors were out in June Cazz....and the only day I have failed to see them is Christmas day. I also saw people employed to pick up litter on the beach that is close to the promenade wall where the tractor cannot reach.
Those beaches are Benidorms pride and joy and probably the biggest tourist attraction.
The huge pile of rubbish placed out at night by the shopkeepers is always gone by morning "¦and I'm up early.
The square is cleaned every day of fast food cartons, vomit and urine, I`ve seen it with my own eyes and witnessed it in April and June when I went filming the Hotel Orange for this forum in the morning.
I don't know what your friend is basing his/her opinion against but I can name you a resort where rubbish is piled up for days and they wonder why they have a cockroach problem.
It is the height of the season, so that means more rubbish, more beer bottles and services may be overstretched, but considering the size of Benidorm and the number of people in the town, then I will totally disagree with anyone's comments that Benidorm (on the whole) is dirty"¦you only have to look at my videos, the camera does not lie....they don`t even allow dogs to foul the main areas.
At certain times of the year the palm trees fruit up and drop the dates, these are sometimes squashed underfoot, making the streets look dirty and precious water is needed to clean them up, but why waste precious water when one good downpour will clean the streets naturally.?
If Benidorm was dirty, then I would be the first to say. Infact if Benidorm was dirty I just wouldn't go there, end of.!

Here Here Sanji, could not have put it better myself..Rosietulip
We got back a week ago, and the beach was cleaned every evening. Of all the places I have ever visited, Benidorms beaches are by far the cleanest.

Not necessarily so....video tape can be edited, special effects can be added, lighting can be altered by the use of filters etc...etc...etc.....but I understand what you are saying. And I realise this is not the case with your movies of Beni.
Well I went in May and thought it was a right won't be going back!
Torremolinos in parts stink of dog ****.
I get hacked off when people come on this forum and base an opinion about a resort having not ventured far from their accomodation. (not saying you are one of them BP).
A woman gave a negative review on this forum and I know who she was, because I spoke to her in the hotel and she made her feelings known ... I asked her if she had been up into the old town?
She said, No where`s that.? it took her all the time to actually walk to the beach.

Compared with anywhere else IN THE WORLD that has the same volume of tourists, especially the 'Brit' drop it on the floor type, Beni copes amazingly.
Swap it for anywhere in England anytime.
also the binmen work all through the night ffs i have heard them emptying the bins about 3am you would not catch our binmen doing that
thanks for all replys whatever its like wont stop me going we love it i wont go anywhere else tried magaluf but we hated it there and it wernt as warm as benidorm
We went to Blackpool the other day and the beach was absolutely disgusting the whole town was a disgrace. Benidorm was immaculate compared to there.
We prefer to visit Benidorm in April when it is less busy, less dirty.
