If you're crazy about gyros pita (or gyros) as I am, then you probably have your own THE BEST one.
Mine is at FRIEND'S in Molivos on Lesbos!!! A small "fast food" rest./bar with great food and service.

I cannot remember what the name of the place was- but it was in Poros. They had a line of tavernas along the marina and it was in one of those!
Has to be the scores of Gyros we sank in a place called Forka (Halkidiki )at E1 euro a throw. All the kids Sat with the locals at midnight at loved it.
Heraklion near Fountain Square - absolutely huge!!!!!
Foodys set right on the corner in the center of Kamari Santorini 2 Euros Hubby lived on them for a daytime snack for 2 weeks
We had wonderful Gyro at Taste in Karfas too, years ago.
And for Gyros in Megas Limnionas we go to Steki.
This means so much to me, because I'm going to Chios tomorrow. If you can give me some more info about good place with home made cousine on the island, I would appreciate it! I stay in Karfas.
Thanx in advance,
Dudi
I'm not to familiar with restaurants in Karfas, but we have been to Taste and Giamos and enjoyed both. I think you'll find that chios is so low on tourism you will find good, homecooked food everywhere!
It rained one afternoon/evening so instead of going out we just went and got a couple of bottles of wine and nipped over there for a couple of giros and played cards on the balcony - it was a lovely evening.
Is Polychrono in Chios?
A little place opposite the town beach in Parga does a great one. He even wraps them in foil for you to take to the beach. Yummy!!!!!!!
Oh to be in Greece!
My best Gyro ever I had on the village square in Atytos, Halkidiki
its nearly 15 years since i went to Greece / Corfu and we didnt have pizza but had a fab kebab wrapped in something nicer than pitta bread with a couple of chips sticking out of the top. cant even remember what that was called its that long ago.
just so i can tell the kids to order and they will most likely enjoy it.

Sounds like you have had Gyros nottheweakestlink. :-)
aha never knew what they were called.
My best is from Polodo's in Kefalos....many have been eaten on our journey home after a night out
like everything else.my first one which was near the fish market in Rhodes town about 20+ years ago
Main square in spetses, the blue lighthouse taverna, or if you like the ones with mustard then try petra, lesvos near the ouzo shop.
Was the giros place in Polychrono called Poldos....just a bit further along from the supermarket on the opposite side of the street?? Had the draught beer pump on the steps as you went in? Gorgeous they were and the Greeks were always queueing up for them too!!
Best gyro was Mamas Kitchen, Perrissa main street..lush it was and filled you up at lunch time so you didn't need to eat till late into the evening
