Aye, but how do you know it's 'your' ice that they're using?
they bring the ice out in the cube bags..... UNLESS...they have their own!!!! oh no....perish the thought!!
We were there for 3 weeks earlier this year, we had ice in our drinks, and ate salads, and had
I think one of the main things is keeping your hands clean all the time and find one or two good restaurants and eat there all the time (I know it might be boring).
the After 7 was great we ate there quite a bit, great food and no bad tums, i think it was the hotel that we were in that made hubby bad though!!
When we asked Kidde the barman if the ice was made with bottled water, he smiled reached into the fridge and handed us a bottle of water frozen solid with the seal intact. He then proceded to peel the plastic off and break the ice into his ice bucket, it satisfied our curiosity and we never gave it another thought whenever we ordered a drink with ice either in the hotel or out in resort.
Never had a minutes trouble in goa, water , curries, kingfishers and sun notwithstanding

I honestly cant see anything wrong with there water, every time I travel abroad for the first week or so I get terribly constipated, last year it was so bad, even the tablets from the pharmacy didnt work, so hubby said to me, try drinking the water, that should move you, I drank 3 litres of the water that day. And NO it didn't work, so since then I haven't bothered with bottled water, or taking my own ice cubes, it hasen't affected me.
Ice in the drinks was bothering me a little too to be honest but after reading here what you regulars have to say it has eased my fears some what
My advice is to stick to bottled beer, soft drinks etc. They are always ice cold and don't need ice.
Buy some of these http://www.imagedesigncompany.co.uk/litecube%20price.htm get your favourite shack to put them in the freezer and light up your drink, as well as ensuring a nice cold drink without the worries of the local water.

Beter safe than sorry. I don't know how many times you have been to Goa but it's just a matter of time if you are not careful. I had the same attitude as you until I came down very ill on day 2 from contaminated water.
Read the thread 'Keep Your Mouth Shut'.

Last year we took 2 friends on holiday for the first time, we had warned them about washing hands, hygene, drinking out of the same water bottles etc.. but they 'did there own thing'. After a week one was very ill and only then did he take a lot more care.
Could it possible be that people who have been going to Goa for several years build up antibodies to certain germs etc that we dont get here.
If you are not sure if the ice is "clean" or not, ask if it came from the Ice Factory (this is for people staying in the Baga/Calangute/Candolim areas) as I know there are two ice factories that supply around that area.
Hi GFF. If it comes from the 'Ice Factory' ~ is that 'clean' ice or not?
I presume it is "clean" ice, i've seen it being delivered to a few bars and restaurants that I use. I always take ice in my drinks but must admit that I always ask first.
