Hi there,
I'm trying to book a car for our week in Ibiza on 3rd Sep but every car hire firm ive gone to book with so far says that a credit card is required to collect the car.
Does anyone know of any firms that dont require this as neither I, nor my wife possess a credit card.
Cheers
Years ago when I ran a car hire operation we would take cash deposits covering excess and fuel.
You do need to consider that in most cases a Debit Card should not be used.
You do not have the protection that you have with Credit Cards.

KeefG, if you are booking witha reputable hire company, use you debit card as a guarantee. It's normal practice and nothing to be disturbed about. I've done several hires abroad now, with zero problems.
Good stuff
We always use our Debit card for car hire and have not had a problem in over 25 years
