Booked to go to the Alexander the Great Paphos next year.
We got married there 11 years ago and have always wanted to go back. Have been to Ayia Napa loads of times since but it's the first time back to Paphos. It's costing us more for the three of us than what we paid for the two of us including the wedding!!!!
Being a bit cruel though. Haven't told son we've booked yet. I was pricing it on net last night when he was in bed and he kept shouting to ask if I'd booked it. He's not mentioned it today! Don't know how long I can keep quiet though.
47 weeks tomorrow
I'll be doing my research on Paphos for the next 47 weeks now.

Ive never stayed In Paphos, but It sounds lovely......... the time will come round before you know It.........
Got back from Napa 3 weeks ago today and after a great holiday had a few upsets. Computer blew up taking everything with it including loads of photo's it hadn't let me put on to cd before we went away and everything else including all my contacts(email addresses, docs etc). Mother in law was mugged last week & generally I've been feelin pretty yuk. Anyway back to work in a week and the extra hours they've given me are the reason we can afford to go back to the Alex.
By the way Nathan has just asked me when I'm going to book the holiday so I've told him. He's well pleased.
Sorry to hear of all your troubles Mandy. At least you have the Alex to look forward to!
If it's still available, we're going to book the Alex for our holiday at the end of October. I'll post a review when I get back, but judging by what I've already read, it sounds a fab hotel.

Sorry you've had some troubles, but looking forward to Paphos and The Alexander should cheer you up I hope .
If you do go to the Alex let me know all about it when you get back.
Hi Serena
We've booked through Portland. It's cost just over £2300 that's for 2 adults and a child in a standard room. It was just slightly cheaper than Argo and it's a Monday flight which gives me an extra day to get packed etc as I only finish work the Friday before.
Any info on bars, restaurants etc would be great. As it's over 11 years since our last and only visit I can't remember much about places we ate and drank. Just remember a Chinese on the left had side going towards the Harbour where we saw "Jack Duckworth" who was staying at the Annabel at the time and we also ate a couple of time's in a traditional restaurant on a side street not far from the Alex where the Waiter used to balance a table on his head I think!!!!

we too are going to alex on 5th november to celebrate our silver wedding on the 7th we have booked a cabana room just me and hubby for a week.have emailed hotel to ask about the cabana room but had no reply also asked how much it would cost for a champagne breakfast in our room thougt we would do something special. but had no reply.any tips where we can go for a special meal at night .also dont know what to pack will i need my bikini or thermals as cant seem to gage the weather.
Hi Mandy, sorry I cant be much help with restaurants as we ate in the hotel most nights as I had a bad knee at the time and found it easier . The entertainment in the hotel was quite good there was usually a pianist or duo in the restaurant and then other entertainers in the bar. The restaurant did theme nights and the entertainment was sometimes apropriate to that IE> belly dancers etc . There was a bar just further up past the Aloe hotel that had entertainment on most nights too, but you had to be in early to get a seat, there was a restaurant opposite it, I think it was French cuisine , never tried it but it looked quite good. We had a great time, all the staff in the hotel were friendly and so were the other guests ,in fact it's the most friendly hotel I have stayed in .
Congrats! We stayed at the Aloe 8 years back and in a villa this time as it was far cheaper and we had our own pool and fantastic facilities. The Alex has a good position for the evenings. A lot has changed in our 8 years so you may feel the same. Its still the quieter place to be but the timeshare touts have found it, SODAP has closed and there are rumours of building to go into the space there(may be considered an improvement actually!), there is a big area of pubs and club like places on the right as you walk into town, and Woolies is now Debenhams! Our fave eating places are all out of town so I can't recommend anywhere particularly, except the Place Royale for breakfast at CYP 1.60 (but I don't suppose you will be looking for any more breakfast). Apart from those changes we found everywhere to be pretty much the same and laid back.
can i ask who you booked your villa through and where abouts was it?
I am wanting to stay in a villa next year, any information appreicated
Thanks
Helen
