Just back from Fuengirola and I was extremely disappointed at the lack of family entertainment. The resort was very nice and the beach was fantastic, and there are lots of family bars etc, but unless you wanted to eat a typical 'British' meal or watch Football they seemed to offer nothing else, not even a quiz or bingo night etc, and they never played any music! I spoke to a few of the bar owners and they said that this is the quietest it has been in a long while.
I have a tip for the bar owners - Have a look at what the bars in Majorca and Tenerife are offering in terms of family entertainment, copy it and the resort might pick back up!
It's a shame that you didnt ask for advice on here before you went to Fuengirola, as there are lots of people who know the area very well, including myself.
Although there are karaoke/entertainment bars that allow children, I agree that kiddies discos are not obviously available. You can normally find kiddies clubs in the hotels.
However, there are lots of lovely 'non-British' places to eat for the whole family to enjoy.
If it were to become more like Tenerife or Majorca, surely this would mean more football/British food and that would be a great shame.
