We recently stayed in the Mirage Park Resort, this was are first time to Turkey, and it didn't disappoint us. Our Holiday was with Thomas Cook but flow with First Choice and again we have flown with many companies, but First Choice were again A1, they told us why we were going to be four hours delayed, and this is people ask for, the truth, instead of a technical fault. We arrived in Antalya, and the first view of the airport is wow, all air conditioned and all in marble, plus there was people there if you needed help. I needed wheelchair assistance and we were fast tracked.
The drive to the hotel was really lovely you have the sea on one side and the mountains on the other, but the way they drive over there has a lot to think about. We arrived at the Mirage Park Resort and the bell boy took are cases and when we booked in and filled out there form, by the time we got to are room the cases were there.
Are first experience with other people in this hotel we at breakfast, the majority of people staying there was Russians, and us brits go on joking about the Germans, well I'm sorry the Russians have nothing on them, They were ignorant, they didn't queue and they didn't know what politeness is, We did have a small problem with some Russians playing music loud, but after going and seeing the customer relations officer, and these people were moved. We wanted to upgrade to all inclusive (its cheaper doing it when you get there) and we went with are Thomas Cook rep Sarah, and she sorted everything out. With ref to Sarah, I normally think that rep are there to sell you everything and forget about you, Sarah is the only rep we have found so far that put you/us first, if there was a problem she sorted, if you think you should have something, she sorted it, if you wanted info she had it, in all I wish other reps could be like Sarah, and she was one big reason we didn't want to come home. So if any Thomas Cook Management are reading this, please take some lessons from Sarah, she is one reason that we will probably go with Thomas Cook next time.
Anyway the Mirage Park, the rooms were normal size with 2 single bed, there was the normal shower in the bath and but very nice and clean, there was a mini bar, that was refilled each day, but we never used it, also if you put your own drinks in the mini bar you will get charged for it. The dinning room is big, but you do need to get there early or fight with the Russians, they have a eating area out side where they also have food cooking on a barbecue, they enjoy cooking alt of lamb, turkey, veal with a allsorts of veg and potatoes, they also had a diet table, and a salad table, for dessert there was lots of fruit or Ice cream, I have a veggie daughter and there was plenty there for her.
The Mirage Park has 2 pools, one is the slide pool and the other was a big pool that the animation crew, played games in, at each pool there was a bar, and when you arrive you get a towel card each, you go to the slide pool (aqua Pool) and give in your card and you get a towel, when you finish you take it back and you get your card back.
The one thing that will bug you is they have a couple of photographers, and some time they pest you for a photo, but after a few days they get the message. The Mirage Park leads down to its own beach which is a shingle beach, which leads on to a pier, there is jet ski, paragliding, banana boats, scuba diving which were all extra money, the beach goes step down when you enter the water. There is also security staff always around the resort.
Would we go to the Mirage Park again, yes, but it would be better if there was a even number of nationalities, when we were there, there was only 30 brits, I would defiantly not put this hotel as a 5*, may be a top 3 or low 4. If you want a night club area don't go to Goynuk, this is a new and up coming area, there is a lot of building starting around Goynuk, the one thing I will say is the Turkish people are really friendly.
I hope this short note will help anyone going there, the last thing I want to say is, Sarah, thank you for everything and we do miss you.
