it could be macarella/macarelletta, we went there in july and the only people there were locals, it was a hair raising journey to get there though! the road is very narrow and dusty and you think that you are never going to make it in one piece. you arrive into a huge gorge, park your car and walk about 500 yards to the beach. it is very pretty with a cafe/bar and plenty of shady trees, we spent a lovely afternoon there.

could you please give me directions from the main cala galdana roundabout (in the centre) and is it worth visiting...I thought they mentioned mitjana?? and would it be frowned upon if the tourists visit??
Gill.

I seem to remember that many years ago - we used a pedal boat from the main cal galdana beach to get to another secluded beach - not certain though - I think we headed left as you face out to sea !!

HI Gill, arrived back from Cala Galdana yesterday. We walked to both bays Mascarella, which is a good 30 min hike and Cala Mitjana, which is an easier walk (cut through Sol Gavilanes hotel and 10mins up the main road)

I much preferred Cala Mitjana. You will see it sign posted just before you drive into Cala Galdana on the left. There is car parking.

Both bays were busy but i think we were lucky that day we went to Cala Mitjana and it wasn't too bad. Should be better in September. I thought it was stunning. The small bay was gorgeous and the locals were diving off the the cliff into the sea. Take a picnic, as there aren't any facitlites.

My parents are in Calan Bosch until friday. The weekend was a bit overcast but Monday and Today were sunny and its still quite warm (they keep sending me bragging texts wish is pointless as Im to Cyprus for 2 weeks next week  )

We were there last year and visited Mitjania which is stunning. Take Fizz's advice, we blew the gear box on the slope when parking in the steep bit!!

On a similar note, anyone who's feeling brave enough to drive down to Cales Coves should be prepared to 'bottom' the average hire car in many places along the road.
