Was this a DIY holiday or through a tour operator?

You need to quantify how "horrible" the Plazzo Apartments were. You need to be specific with the comparison between the Majestic and the Plazzo - thinking all the time how you would explain this difference to a judge in a County Court hearing. Things like "the beds were really small" and the "views were not nice" is pointless.
Focus on advertised amenities in the Majestic that were not available in the Plazzo.

I've not read your August post so sorry if I'm repeating already stated suggestions, but, did you complain forcefully upon arrival and throughout your stay to the Budget Rep ?. Have you any photographs or video recordings of poor facilities/unhealthy conditions etc.? Did you request a return flight back to UK soon after arrival and if so, was this refused ?

Finally, you have to be prepared to take this to the County Court otherwise Budget will simply ignore you. They know you're never likely to book with them again (you stated this) so they are hardly likely to bend over backwards to secure your future business.

Re costs of court case - the solicitor is perhaps wrong as you can represent yourself at a County Court and the limits are set in pounds sterling - and somewhat higher than 2000euro. Check out this link:

https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/csmco/index.jsp

and it will explain how to lodge a claim. You can even complete the details online. As Budget are a company (and not a private individual) they cannot request the case to be moved from your local court ro one closer to them.

If you find this too much hassle speak with Ros Fernihough on 01922 621114 and she and her team of travel lawyers may take your case on.

It was through a tour operator.. Every day we looked to be moved but no joy. Looking out at a building site and a dump from my apartments. told us there was facilities there for kids, but forget to tell us that is was still a building site and the facilities were not built.

I am in Ireland so I think the Laws are different. The max in the small claims court is 2000euro over here

Have a chat with Ros (details on Mike's post) as she often does a programme on Irish radio.
