Me and 3 of my friends have booked to go to malia on the 10th july next year. i would advise booking through olympic holidays. We did so, usuing the travel agents 'travelcare'. It cost us £393 each for 2 weeks self catering, and the hotel we're staying in is recomended in the brochure for those wanting to be close to the nightlife. The travel agent told us that olympic holidays is one of the most popular for greece as it is so much cheaper than some others.
hope this helps
im about to book a week stay in late july in malia at the danaides apartments/studios, but cannot find any reviews
Any info would b greatly appreciated

I've just booked Malia for two weeks with seven other lads for the last day of july until mid august.
Basically from friends I've heard mixed emotions, for example its a bit scummy. Ive also heard the locals are very angry and in some cases violent. However it is meant to be a party animals heaven.
It would be much appreciated to hear your opionons about malia.
Not only that but I am staying in the Danaides Apartments and I was just wondering if anybody has ever stayed in them before. If so it would be good to hear your views on the apartments for example how far from the beach, how far from the strip, if the actual apartments are deemed livable etc.
Thank you.
hi and welcome.. you will find the members resort reports on thefollowing link

just booked up! yay!
can anyone tell me what Malia is like in the first week of May? (i.e. weather? is everything open? is it busy? etc)
Thanks
Im going to malia in august 14th for a week jus wounderin if theres anyone on here going at the same time??
Malia's good for young single people, the hotels aren't all that great but it's the nightlife and people! Watch out for the quads and make sure you only rent your bikes from EXTREME, they're the safest but not the cheapest.. the rest WILL rip you off with insurance! Be sure to go to Malia beach (open from March) the owners a nutter (Tassos) but he treats everyone well with barbecue's an dwatermellon etc on hot days! But be carefull of the doughnut man out there he's the dirty looking man selling doughnuts (don't be fooled by the lovely looking doughnuts! The mans just ugh!). Peak seasons June/august and thats when the main strips packed. Basicallly it's a cheap single boys/girls holiday where you shouldn't expect any sleep!!!!
HOTELS NOT TO STAY IN..... Stelios Aptms...Mirage Hotel(renound for burglary!) the rst on the main strip or as travel agents say close to nightlife! The best place to stay is Miramare as it's right on the beach! The good thing about Malia is that nothings too far away, the best place to eat on the whole island is The Red Lion, Mmmm, it's lovely! There are two water parks Water City is the best one to go to, and the go Kart racing tracks ok. But be warned, drinks are fairly expensive and in the first week of May when we went it rained all week (but you never no with Malia unless you go over July/August). Not everything will be open in May it depends what kind of winter they've had, by the end of may EVERYTHING starts to go a little crazy and more and more workers end up staying out! It's a good place to work over the summer and really easy to find jobs and acc! Anymore questions give us a shout! I'll try! xmex
any information would be appreciated.
also, we're staying at the danaides apartments and cant find any reviews.has anyone stayed here before? the travel agent said it was one of the best locations etc but i havent spoke to anyone who has actually stayed there.
thanks
Just thought I'd let holiday bookers know not to book at Aeolos apartments in Malia. Th manager is very *** EDT to remove libelous comments**. He charged me 20 euro for having a friend in my room at 1pm in the afternoon. When I refused to pay he told me that 1000 euro had been stolen from a guest and that if I didn't give him 20 euro he would call the police and tell them that it was my friend that took the money. We had to pay 140 euro (non-refundable) for air-con and safe. Our sheets were changed once in our two week stay despite us constantly asking the manager and cleaning staff to change them. We were so scared of breaking anything because the manager would have changed us a bomb and once ur there you dont have a choice but to pay. We are going back to Malia but won't be staying there again!
Wooops, actually called- Aoelos Beach appartments
You will find excellent excursions to various places. Knossos Palace is an example. You can visit the island of Spinalonga. I am sure your rep will contact you with prices etc. But before you book take a walk along the main street you will find several places selling trips that could be cheaper.
Using the bus to Hersonissos you could arrange your own trip to Star Beach. The bus virtually stops outside. There are water slids, ski-ing, paragliding and off course the banana boat.
There are many other trips, Samara Gorge is worth a visit but it does involve a lot of walking. If you do this make sure you have goods shoes, a hat and water.
Hopefully this is of help to you.
Sokin will probably give you further information when he logs in too
