Hi I don't know your hotel but I've been to Skala. We went last year in May (very early season). The weather wasn't too bad, a little chilly in the evening but by day very nice and got a nice tan. Water

Pool and Sea freezing, but as I say it was in May.
The beach is a mixture of sand and shingle, lovely clear water. The resort itself is quiet, laid back. A smattering of tavernas, a few tourist shops and a few supermarkets. There are also a few tour/car hire shops. We hired a car and went off around the island, we also did an island tour on a coach which was nice.
Lovely resort for couples but not enough there for us, we found it a bit quiet.
