Hello,
Me(32), my partner(30) and her daughter(12) have booked to go to The Algarve next year for two weeks (29th July to 12th Aug). We have booked to stay at The Brisa Sol (1 bed apartment with pool view) in Albufeira for 1 week. For the second week we will be venturing further afield to Lagos where I have booked the Vilabranca apartments. I have booked the flights myself with Jet2 flying from Manchester and booked the accommodation with Travel Republic.
Total cost for whole holiday: £1844.94
This does not include transfers etc. I reckon we have got a good deal and have heard very good reports about both apartments. Tripadvisor and holidaytruths score them very highly and I believe both are 4 satrs.
Been to The Algarve for the past two years and love the place so much we've booked again!
Thanks,
DDM.
Can't help with if it's a good deal or not as you are going in the school holidays. But to assist - we've booked for 2 weeks 2007 (last week June first week July) and like yourselves have booked flights with Jet2. Booked our accommodation separately - a 1 bedroomed apartment overlooking the Marina in Lagos. Total price £969.
I am assuming this figure does not include a hire car for the 2 weeks. I think despite that you have a reasonable deal.
Anybody else going in the school holidays and would care to comment on the price I have paid?
Thanks in advance,
DDM.
with transfers etc: your talking £1900 +... for 2 weeks, for 3 persons. i would call that a reasonable deal, but not great!!! like yourselves, we have been twice before, done tenerife last year[ was ok ]. just back from 2 weeks in menorca[ also ok]. but already booked to go back to lagos in june next year[ the beeees neeees in our book]. may the winter go quick..lol
Dogdogman, You may have valid reasons for not hiring a car,BUT if you did you would save all the costs of the transfers plus freedom to go and do whatever you want. I hope I,m not stating the obvious apologies if I am.
Would there have been a cheaper way of booking the same holiday? There aren't any package deals that would have done the two centre idea that I can think of. The only way was DIY (I think) so I cannot see how it could be done cheaper. Bear in mind that I want to stay at the apartments specified.
TIA,
DDM.
If you think you have got a good deal dog then glad your happy, it can be swings and roundabouts on a lot of DIY holidays. I,m sure that a package would have been a lot dearer, especially when your on a 2 centre holiday specifying your accommodation, sometimes depends when you book, as you know prices change constantly online from one day to the next. As long as your happy thats all that matters, enjoy your holiday. Cheers Jayjan
Don't know if you are still looking in dogdogman, but I have been trying to price something similar for a fortnight for 4 peeps, just one center and going a week earlier. Unless I take very basic apartments I am only just about matching your price. So I think that in view of the 2 center and the school hols you have got a pretty good deal.
