Hi Susien
We have just returned from Olu Deniz and the weather had turned unusually colder and wetter than is normal for this time of year.

We found lots of places lit open fires at night which was quite a surprise to us and very welcoming when things looked a bit gloomy. Even in Carusoes Bar they had a fire pit in the centre with huge logs pilled on it.

My daughter has been in October and she was on the beach every day but dressed in jeans and jumpers at night. Dont wory it will still be fabulous!!!!!!

Hi Focus

We are flying at 8.45pm. We are actually staying in Ovacik which is a short taxi ride away, you will go through it on the way to Olu.

We intend to get a taxi into Olu several times though.

Trips.......... go to Philip at Easy Riders, he is on the main seafront.
If you book more than one, he will throw in either a market or waterpark trip free!
We did the 6 island boat trip in July. It was only £5 inc lunch!! We left at 10.30 am and didnt get back till 7.30pm.

Visit the lagoon while you are there. There is a £1 entrance fee. When we were there in July it got very very busy in the day time with local people, so we took a walk down at 6 ish. It closes at 8pm, but it might be earlier now it is october, as it will get dark earlier.

Try the Becekiz beach hotel's Indian or Thai restaurant, its on the seafront. It is great!! We will be going there one night!!

Did not get bothered by any mossies in July, dont know what it will be like in october.

Take English Sterling to pay for trips etc, cos you get a better deal, and they prefer it to lira!

Cant think of anything else, but if you have anymore questions, fire away!!

Yeah bring jeans and maybe lightweight jumpers. I got back last week and wore jeans and shirt in the evening that was just warm enough.

My tips if its first time to Olu

Book with Easy Riders - Ask for George we got Turkish Bath, 12 island and Jeep safari for £50 for 2 people which was good value. I know it only costs £5 but i wouldnt bother with the 12 island if the weathers not hot, you soon get bored and drinks are pricey on board. On the otherside the Jeep safari is a must!!!

We found the buzz bar to be the best value, get there a little before sunset and bag yourself a table absouloute bliss. Also highly reccomended are Bella Gusto and Pepinos!

There were no sign of mossies what so ever while we were there which was a reflierf and an annoyonance considering how much repellent we bought!!

Ah we met George from Easyriders. He was so lovely, the man of many accents. Loved the sperman t shirt!!

We fancy doing the Jeep safari too. Where do you go, how long is it, howm uch and did it include lunch.??

We went to Hisaronu in mid October and very chilly in the evenings. Don't forget socks! I only had flip flop type shoes and my feet were freezing! The weather in the day was perfect though. Not too hot to walk the length of the spit in the day. In August the heat just wears you out. October is a fab time to go. Lots of lovely atmospheric log fires in the restaurants. The locals dress up as though it's -20!! And there we are in our flimsy summer things! Definitely jumpers and socks....that's my tip!

Tch

Cold at night I ask you. I can understand the locals feeling the change in temperature but we're British for gods sake!!!

We got back from Olu last Friday, had a great time. I wore shirt sleeves all the time and survived.

Mind I am from Newcastle

You geordies are so tough!

I've been to Newcastle and the men always wear t-shirts all year round and the girls don't seem to wear much at all! My husband always enjoys his trips there!

I found in Turkey, although at the start of the holiday you feel quite warm at night you soon become aclimatized and by the end you do feel the chill. But not if you are from the North. :D
