I know it's early but I'm looking into booking Vegas next Oct for 3 of us.
Done DIY many times but only to EU and Canaries
Be grateful if frequent travellers can answer some questions for me
Hotel
Does anyone know anything about the Circus Circus re-build.ie when they are planning on starting/completing.
Does anyone have an e-mail for this hotel.
Would anyone have a map of the strip
Flights ....
I'd like to go direct if possible....what's the difference between Airtours and Virgin? Are there any other companies doing direct flights. Is it best to book a charter flight or a scheduled....and what's the difference
Taxi from airport to hotel
Is it best to book in advance ...does anyone know of a reasonably priced firm offering a transfer service
Any replies to any questions would be very much appreciated....not only is it my first time DIY to US but it's my first ever trip there
Hi Tango we went to Circus Circus in 1999, brill hotel lovely rooms, its about three quarters way up the strip nearer to down town Las Vegas, we would definately book there again if we went in the future. We booked it with flights with Continental airlines (Schedule) from Manchester to Newark (New Jersey/New York. and then to Mc,Clarron airport in Vegas. Didnt know they where supposed to be rebuilding the hotel though. Enjoy your hols its a fabulous experience. We went mid October and the weather was fine Cheers Jayjan
Where do you plan to fly from? Virgin have a scheduled service from Gatwick. Airtours do flights from Manchester.
I plan to go from Manchester.....I think it's closer with us living in South Wales.
Anyone flown with My travel from there.......what's the flight like .....do they have the movies like they do on the virgin flights
Sorry for all the questions .....it's all new to me
http://www.flybmi.com I think they are more expensive than virgin who go from Gatwick. I believe teh Airtours flights are charter rather than scheduled and from what I've read the seat pitch is less and it can be an uncomfortable flight.
I also understand that Circus Circus is closing soon and being rebuilt so may not be open when you go. What about the Stratosphere? It should be about the same price, but is at the far north of the strip.

It was booked as a package and we found the price was far cheaper than D.I.Y. The flight included a meal and yes they did show movies. The hotel was great.
I've never travelled with Virgin so can't compare the 2, however, value for money the Mytravel holiday was excellent.
You can get better hotels, but also more expensive as well. The same probably relates to flights. However this was a direct flight which we appreciated. They did offer an upgrade to Premium Class, which was in a seperate cabin and included priority boarding and free drinks as well as your own screen to view movies. The seats were also a lot more spacious.
We hope to go again next October.
The Stratosphere is at the very end of the strip and a lot further out than Circus Circus. We liked the positioning of Circus Circus (on the strip but nearer older type hotels where drinks etc. were really good prices).
