Anywhere apart from coco beach.
Candolim, Calangute & Baga shelve quickly and waves can be fierce. Colva in the south and Morjim in north are much gentler slopes.

My favourite stretch of beach is from Ashvem to Arambol. It's usually deserted apart from the odd shack and the water is beautiful. The beach shelves gently into the sea, unlike Candolim, and because the sea is not so rough, the water is much clearer. It takes less than an hour in a taxi form Candolim. You can stop at any of the coco hut places that are dotted along the beach there and you can spend the day on their sunbeds as long as you eat and drink there too.

Palolem beach in the south - beautiful sickle shaped bay, crystal clear water and hundreds of swaying palms. If you get up early enough you'll catch the dolphins taking their morning exercise!!

I have heard Palolem looks like a demolition site at present due to all the illegal shacks being bulldozed  Little Vagator beach is my favourite although you tend to get pestered a bit, it isn`t too far from Baga etc.

Pictures that I took of Palolem a few weeks ago are in the Photo section......definitely looked like a bomb site when I was there last!! The good thing is that the beach was back to how it used to be 8 or 9 years ago before shack invasion took place. Friends just got back from Palolem yesterday said it was beautiful down there but i'm not sure if and when the re-build will take place?

I am with Katie b on this.
beaches up there are lovely and unspoilt.
Last year the cost for a taxi there, wait and back were less than £10 for the full day.
including food and a beer or two, less than £15 for a day in heaven :D
I posted some pics of Ashwem beach at the beginning of the year, they should still be in the Goa section

Goa is one of the most beautiful places in the world. There are several magnificent churches, temples, waterfalls, beaches, mosques and historical places of interest. However, the part of Goa you will enjoy the most is its people, food and music. No place on earth can truly duplicate the experience of Goa. Not now. Not ever.
