Unfortunately its true, put Laskarina collapse into Google and it tells the whole story, they were a great company but a bit pricey

Have a look at the Laskarina thread under travel agents at the bottom of the index page. It looks as though the various agents and reps will be continuing some sort of service next year. You've probably received a letter from Ian Murdoch explaining their plans.
This was the first year ever that we arranged our Symi trip independently and look what happened. I knew it would be my fault.

Actually its not really your fault. About 18 months ago Laskarina had a great website called Laskachat. It was frequented by a lot of people with in depth knowledge about many lesser known Greek destinations including many Laskarina places. Unfortunately one of the contributors decided to make a long and detailed post about booking these places independently without the use of a tour operator, not a great idea on a tour operators website. Shortly after this the site was shut down. Laskarina were a great tour operator, you paid for this service but avoided a lot of hassle especially with transfers to more remote islands. Dont blame yourself!!!!!!!
