i thing the forum is best used in winter.more time to ask all those question you need to know, like me i could of brought a place the amount of times i.ve been.since 82,sometimes 4 times a year, pity a few of use could not get together and club in to buy a few attps.and use them and rent them out, property now is so high.if only i had taken the gamble years ago.nevermind.shame somewhere is not open over winter i know a lot of people would love to go then.i would open up fiestaland in pdb.cheap fights cheap hols, the hotel would make money on drinks.only thing is not like benidorm ect.no heating in rooms.who cares i would love to go that time of year.

there are a few hotels open over the winter i know the Nautiaus used to be one but mainly for the spanish, to get there you needs to fly from Madrid or sail from Majorca.

in winter you can fly into ibiza via madrid, barcelona, and palma on a frequent daily basis. (from alicante and valencia to a lesser extent). you can also take the ferry from barcelona, denia and palma.

obviously not all of the hotels are open - about 10 are open to accommodate the spanish pensioners on subsidised holidays, nearly all the agrotourist country hotels are open and they are just soooooo beautiful, and a sprinkling of hotels and hostals don't close over 'winter'

it's well worth the effort to come here in winter - the island is at its greenest and lushest, covered with flowers, the best bars and restaurants are all open, and the weather is perfect for being out and about in the daytime and wrapping up warm by a log fire at night.

you don't know what you're missing.

Can you give me some names of hotels and I can book direct? Would'nt it be lovely to spend Xmas there, I hear the spanish have barbeques on the beach, sound ideal.

Christmas in Ibiza would be nice! Just been looking but the flights are a bit expensive - about £360 each via Barca! We've been to Santa Eulalia for the last 3 years now and bought a timeshare at Es Pueto there! We went in half term week in October and it was great. Weather was hot and we "discovered" Mariners for the first time - been past a few times but never been in - we spent 4 nights there - good food, beer and entertainment!! and somewhere for the kids to play safely indoors. Roll on next year.
