I checked this Hotel out last season to see if it was suitable for friends visiting. It's a nice place and was re-furbished last season, it's owned by an ex army general. Rooms were very nice - some had two bathrooms and the lay out was a bit strange but all in all it seemed like a nice place. Location is good - down the beach road opposite Shooters and within easy walking distance to the beach. Closest shacks would be Love Shack (although not opening this year) Swally and Co-Co Joes.
I would avoid staying at this Hotel during the Banana Festival because it's right next door to the sight that holds the festival. The festival is usually mid to late Feb and lasts for about 1 week - it's very noisy and goes on all through the night, the main attraction being the gambling tables, funfair and live performances.

It's also right next door to the Hindu cremation ground. Don't let that put you off as the wind is usually blowing in the opposite direction, but this is the reason why the palce has been up for sale with for years with no takers. I would still stay there though, except, as GFF says, during the Banana Festival.
