The picadiily sports bar also has a cig machine next to pelicanos, all the bars we went in allowed smoking, and some sold cigs from under the counter

I think this is not related but could not find any post about this. What i would like to know is how many packets of ciggies can you bring back home from Benidorm.
no limit, but guidelines state 16 cartons plus6 boxes of baccie
Thanks Kevin just wanted to know as i know my mum and dad want me to bring back some packets for them as part of the holiday present from me
I don't want to start a big debate, but I prefer my 4 year old who likes dancing in the kiddie discos went somewhere smoke free. Plus it's good to get a little bit of peace and quiet from the wife while she has to pop outside!
Sharonc get the ciggies at a tobac shop goverment run & the cheapest
Hi smoking not allowed indoors where under 16's are so you should be ok for the kiddies disco's
The law is totally flouted as far as smoking is concened.
Many of the bars in Beni allow smoking despite young children been present.
Panchos even have a ciggie machine in the bar and they have a kiddies disco on everynight.

I know most of the hotels and app dont allow you to smoke in the rooms but can anyone tell me if you are allowd to smoke in the balcony of your room as i know i cant go without a ciggie before going to bed at night and 1st thing in the morning when i wake up . I would be happy to smoke in the balcony if that is allowed please can someone tell me as i fly out there next sat morning for our 1st holiday abroad in our lifes
You should be able to smoke in your apartment and definately on your balcony.
Thanbks Fuzzy i did phone up the app and they said it was all a none smoking apps now but i forgot to ask about the balcony. But again thanks for your info on this as we fly out next week. Cant waite now as it get closer but i know i will need a ciggie when we arrive after the stress of two girls on a plane for the 1st time
This may depend on where you are staying, but I was told that the law cannot apply in the hotel rooms, unless it is specifically a no smoking room.
I've stayed in a no smoking hotel, but have been able to smoke in my room.

I go to Benidorm three times a year Sharon, and I have not yet stayed in a hotel or appt. where you couldn't smoke in the room. As far as I know, a handful of hotels are totally non-smoking, but if they have a balcony, that is fine, and if they don't, I think they turn a blind eye, (like the gate 11 area at Alicante airport). If you say where you are staying, I or someone will most likely be able to tell you what the position is.
But i did phone them and i am sure he said it was a none smoking apts . Think i will phone again tonight will let you know what they say
Sharon
Just came of the phone to them and the lady that i spoke to thinks that you can smoke in the living room and balcony but not the bedrooms. Well that is fine with me as i dont smoke in the bedroom anyway but i do need a ciggie when i get up in the morning and befor i go to bed as well. So at least i am half way there now
Smoke in the rooms, how the hell will they find out?

Probably the stink will hit the maid in the face.
I think in Sharon's case, they are saying it is ok to smoke in the apartment living area, but they are asking for you to not smoke in the bedrooms and being a smoker myself, I think this is a reasonable thing to ask....I don't smoke in my bedroom or livingroom at home, so I see no problem at being asked not to smoke in someone else's bedroom.
In a hotel room, apart from asking you to not smoke in bed, for obvious safety reasons, then the hotel room is your living area, but weather permitting, both me and Dave still smoke on the balcony, it is difficult during the winter months when it is freezing cold outside, so we have the balcony door open a little bit and spray the room with an air freshner bought in Benidorm and then ditched at the end of the holiday.

I found that area in Alicante airport. I was in a panic as the signs said that the Airport was a complete No Smoking Place. All I could think about was being 2 hours in the Airport and then more than 2 on the plane without a ciggie until I happen to notice a lady walking down towards back of airport and then saw her lighting a ciggie. What a relief. Don't think a lot of people know about it as in Total over the 2 hours only about 4 people came to smoke. I am not even a heavy smoker about 10 a day but seem to panic when I go somewhere I think I will be able to smoke and then find I can't. Karen
Karen, I have found the perfect antidote to a non smoking period of time. If I am on an aeroplane, I have a piece of Nicotine gum, perfect.
It was much tidier and quite discreet.
Sue
Also anyone flying from Leeds and Bradford will be disappointed that the bar is now non smoking but they still have a smoke den on the 1st floor but it is quite confined and very smoky.
