Hi, we are planning on visiting Egypt next year, we don't want to travel completely independently but don't want to be part of a standard mainstream tour package either. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about doing things or any companies we could contact? Also where would you recommend we visit?

We are also think about China, probably again the same sort of trip, we don't want to be part of a big group on a standard tour but don't feel confident enough to go it alone. Again, where would you recommend we visit?

We have never been to either of these countries before.
