Hello. I went to Goa last year and loved it. The only slight downer was the sea colour. I usual go to Cyprus and its crystal clear. I have heard rumour that if you go down south the sand is white and the sea is clear. Is this true??
I'm going with some friends this year and am hoping to get some bikes and travel south from Baga on a road trip for a few days (staying in beach shacks along the way). I know I need an international driving licence but where can I rent helmets as I've heard you need them. Has anyone else done this and recommend any places or beaches.
Cheers all
hi, beaches in the south probably do have nicer sand but don't think there's much difference in the colour of the sea, not as clear as the med.
Yes the sand is quite white in the south and the beaches very beautiful, but the sea is just the same muggy green colour as in the north. And the same sort of problems with strong under tows so always take care in the sea.
South Goa is much nicer (IMO) the beaches are less busy and perhaps lighter in colour, the sea tends to be calmer in the crescent shaped bays (like Palolim etc) it's nice for swimming and isn't too bad, but not exactly clear, but nice and warm... good for just relaxing and floating...
Just read that Palolim was in the bourn identity 2 film. I remember wondering where about in goa it was. I thought it was Baga first time I watched it
GFF xx
It cracks me up when you see four people and their dog on one scooter. The police arn't bothered about the locals.
