We are looking for a cottage to rent for next new year for 15.. i know early but would like to get it booked up asap. Does anyone know of any good sites i could look we live in surrey so cornwall, wales, somerset etc... that sort of area we are looking for.

Take a look at http://www.helpfulholidays.com it's never too early to start looking as a lot of the bigger properties tend get booked up well in advance.
