I've been for the last 2 years, booked to go again the last week in july/first week in august and also trawling the net to get a quick visit in before too!! (around march), if you have'nt sorted anything out by then i'll report back and let you know.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn about 4 years ago - it was excellent, and we got a very good HB deal. A colleague has visited twice since and reports it's still good. Not much entertainment at the hotel when I was there, but the food and service were good, the pools excellent, and the snorkelling great.

At the moment we like the look of the Tropicana Grand Oasis! Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

We went last April with 2 daughters aged 13 and 15. Youngest dived with her dad and eldest and I snorkelled. They both loved it, a few shops, toilets, cafe and fantastic sea..depends what they like! It was the highlight of our holiday as we saw a Napoleon Wrasse catch a Lion Fish, fantastic! But not a place for night life..need to go to Naama Bay for that! :D !

Having stayed at both HSB and the Concorde I would go back to the Concorde but probably not the Hilton. The main reasons being there is more room on the beach and the service is better. I would echo a previous comment and ensure you are booked into the main hotel.

On both occasions when we have walked around the Tropicana we felt it looked shabby compared to the HSB and Concorde. Cannot comment on other factors like the food though.

Just come back from a weeks holiday at the Sol Sharm Hotel. OK for a 4 star hotel. Spent most of the time around the hotel pool. Not much of a beach. Although the divers said it was a good site. No shops etc.
