I'm visiting Edinburgh Friday 16th - Sunday 18th Feb , I'm taking my wife to see Chitty Chitty bang bang at the playhouse on Friday evening and wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere to eat either pre or post show friday (show is at 7.30 and would expect it to end about 10ish) and also any nice restaurants for the saturday evening.

I would suggest trying a B&B in Corstorphine as it's not too far out of town but still accessible enough and a straight road if you have to walk home :)

There are some B&B's just off Leith Walk, which is pretty close to Princess Street and Waverley Rail Station.

Can someone tell me where the great nightlife is in Edinburgh?

We've been there on rugby international weekends and had a good time but have recently returned from a girls weekend away and found the nightlife to be a bit disappointing. We had great meals out but attempts to find a nightclub that didnt cater for 16 -20 yr olds failed!

Locals recommended Seaglow(?) near the 3 Sisters, we had one drink and left. We then headed to another recommendation - Lava & Ignite, we didnt even bother going in, the kids queing outside were younger than our own children we'd left at home. A taxi driver then took us to Mood, again one drink and out!

One of my friends is going back to Edinburgh in a few months and is hoping to have more luck next time! Can anyone recommend a decent club where over 25s can have a good nite out?

Thanx,
Del.

I'd head for George Street, there's some great bars around there - Tiger Lily, Candy Bar, Opal Lounge, etc. and it's a bit more upmarket so doesn't attract the teenyboppers!

If you're looking for a club Po Na Na was ok last time i went. It's a Moroccan themed club (think it might be part of a chain) with good music and it's just off George Street on Frederick St.
