Discussions regarding holidays in Goa.
Hi everyone.. :wave ..im just about to send for my visa to cover our 12th trip to beautiful Goa (via Mumbai )...i have been on both the London and Birmingham sites to down-load some forms and noticed that they are forms for 2006.....(right at the bottom of the second page it gives you the dates for holidays in 2006...)...will it still be OK to use these forms ???
Has anybody done so...used the previous years application form ?????
Many thanks....Neil :glynis

Noggin, both the PDF and Word downloads on the London site are showing 2002 (hols) - You did well to get to 2006!

I thought I'd check after my last post.......If you go to the download section from the HCI main page you get the 2006 version.......however if you google HCI london, one option is visa downloads http://www.hcilondon.org/visadown.htm which gives you the 2002 versions!!!

Just been to preston to get visa straight away, what a nightmare. Got there at 8.30 queue about 200 people in front of me, got out at 11.30 and still hundreds waiting in hall and lots more outside.

We have just got home from Preston surgery....what a nightmare....this surgery has never been like this before, they said it was because Blackburn was cancelled so they suffered the consequence. They stopped people going in before lunchtime so not sure how many people were turned away. Think we will send off through the post next time as this seems such a waste of a day. Any way we have ours now so off next Sunday. :D

Hi goansoon. hubby went mad at having to get up early yesterday, glad we did now, we go next sunday, wasnt it a farce, feel sorry for those that didnt get them, theyll have to use courier service at lot of extra expense.

For anyone travelling to edinburgh for a visa:

Very busy and lots of upset people at 12.30. I would highly recommend getting there early. Especially if you are making the long journey.

Also, there were a few knock backs because of the wrong forms being filled in. They have some in the visa area. You will have plenty of time to fill them in during the 1 and a half hour wait.

Got them though and i am proper excited now (1st timer)

As we cant always get the time off work to take our visa applications to London we use a courier, a bit expensive but we dont get the hassle. Anyway just taken it to the courier today and they said the Embassy in London is heaving, really busy, so as I wasnt going til March could I bring it back in nearer the time. Just thought I would let you know in case someone needs one soon.

Why not do it by post? I applied for mine on a Monday and it was back to me by the Following Saturday. Mind you it was in September so maybe its quieter then.

Please note that I merge all visa and flight queries to the sticky topics we already have. Both threads are well read and you should get answers( you may find the info is already there! :D ).
Where flights queries are not directly related these are moved to the flights forum or I will point you in the right direction and lock the post. If the flights thread is clogged up with general questions found in the flights forum then it makes it difficult for members to access info specific to Goa.

Hi, does anyone know if you still have to pay the extra £1.00 (plus the £30.00) for postal applications for London? doing 5 so dont want them all coming back, also, do the photos have to be exactly 2 x 1.5" as my MIL has just got some done which are 2" x 2" (again dont want the application coming back)
Thanks Goanne

Hi Goanne - no you don't have to pay the extra one pound charge - we didn't last year and all came back fine. There's no mention of it on the form we downloaded this year either. Our photos (digitally done and printed) are 1.5 x 1.75 which was measured against the passport sized photo we had done last year (printed in shop). Don't think they're that fussed about photos as long as they can see it's you. Having said that - we're still waiting for ours and it's been nearly a fortnight!

Thanks lovemyhols, wasnt sure, as I thought I had paid 31 last year, asked MIL to get some more pics - just in case, dont want them having any excuse, especially if there taking along time for return!
