We are getting excited..only 4 weeks to go ! Time to start thinking about what to take and what I can buy out there.
Most important Gin and Tonic from an off licence. Gin was difficult in Kerela, tonic almost impossible. We do like a tipple in the room before going out in the evening...do we need to take either ?
Can I buy lightweight QUALITY trousers, particularly zip offs. Socks ?
Reading matter, books etc. All saves packing and weight.
Sun tan oil...is it a cheap rip off pirate or does it work ?
Any info gratefully accepted !
You can buy bottles of Gin for around 120 rupees (£1.40) in places like the Elephant shop, tonic is also available for around 30 rupees, it's actually dearer than the Gin. Nivea sun cream is available most places it's about the same price as the uk, we tried the local one a few years back and we both burnt, so we usually take some with us and by the rest out there.

Lots of secondhand books available, some free at shacks when you take one back, others 1-200rps.
