hi Liz - We stayed here a couple of years ago http://www.butcombe-farm.demon.co.uk/accomodation.htm and looks like they do take animals with a small surcharge. The cottages are in a lovely area and we visited cheddar Gorge, Wookey hole. bath, wells and bristol from here and they were all reasonably close . We went in high season but the price was very reasonable at that time of year with the added bonus of a super outdoor swimming pool and a games barn for the children. We had a lovely week here and whilst the accomodation was not luxurious it was clean, tidy and well maintained and found it excellent value for money in a most beautiful part of somerset.
