Hi, am going on first visit to Goa in April, but am already so excited. have really been enjoying all the advice and tips on the forum, and it has definately made me far more excited than i would have been otherwise. So thanks to everyone! I apologise in advance for the number of questions i'll be asking before our trip. I have read a few places about the trains though, and just wanted to know if this is a good way to get around whilst in Goa. We are staying in the Marriott, so in central Goa, and i'm very aware that we will obviously be doing a lot of travelling back and forth to various places. Is the train just for long journeys? If so what are the buses like? I know we can get taxis cheaply, but was just wondering for the experience side of things really. Any good recommendations of good trips on the train (possibly further afield)?
Thanks for advice
M.R...I used the bus in goa for the first time in november and I have to say from now on I will only use the taxi after 7PM..or if we are going on a long trip ...the bus is great fun..colleen
We use the buses where ever possible my 6 yr old is a little bewildered but Hey what an experience!!! She now takes it in her stride sitting in an Indian Ladies knee half way down the bus while we stand and certainly something to tell the other children when she is back at school.
