Hi all HT'ers have been reading the forum for a while now, but this is the first time I have had the courage to post.
Would just like to ask people their experience of Goa in April. My fiancee and I go out for our honeymoon in April, an whilst we have been to Goa quite a few times before, it has always been December or January, and I have heard that it is very hot in April. Not that that is problem for me, but my other half tends to get decidely irritated when he is hot and cannot cool down.
Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
J
Hi, can't give you any advice re April I'm afraid but just wanted to say "hello" and congrats on the honeymoon!
April is VERY hot but it's the humidity that gets to you - make sure you book a room with A/C. If you use the search facility on here you'll find lots of other helpful info ref Goa in April.
Have a lovely wedding and honeymoon

p.s. And if you take your sight seeing trips by taxi which is not only cheaper but also very flexable so you can stop for refreshments when ever you want. Have a great wedding and a fantastic honeymoon
Thanks for your replies. We have booked Lagoa Azul. We normally stay at the MD, but facied a change for the honeymoon. Hoping to upgrade to a suite which sounds kinda special, although those lovely warm evenings sat on the beach, feet in the sand and a kingfisher in hand listening to the ocean... aahhh life doesn't get much more special than that.
Hi, i usually go in Jan and Feb, but last year we tried April. I didnt notice much difference during the day, but evenings are very humid.
We too are off to the same hotel in April, cant wait.
See all you people at Lagoa Azul or one of the meets hopefully. We fly out 16th April
I also read this forum almost daily but have never done a post so here goes, We went to goa the first two weeks in april last year and it was still busy, the bars and shacks were all open, the markets was winding down a bit but there was still a lot of stalls there, the heat did not bother us but we did have air con in the room. We are going back on the 16th of april from manchester cant wait staying in calungute, one question where abouts is the pre pay taxi stand as we want to get one rather then taking the bus?
There's two pre-paid stands at Dabolim. Don't use the one inside use the one out side that's directly opposite the exit.... Should cost you about 600-650 Rps.
thanks for the reply, just want to get to the hotel as soon as we can, then down to the beach. roll on three weeks.
Not long til all these april folk travel now
1st timeapril the 14th from gatwick
I am sure you will love it Jimm. Where are you staying?
Here's a tip for anyone on there way out to Goa........bring a couple of tins of Magicool with you because it really is too humid. Even the locals are complaining. You can't even manage to take cold showers because the water comes from tanks up on the roofs and has been boiled in the sun all day.......oh well, I suppose it's better than snow!!
See you there
I'm here in Goa now at an internet cafe. Have to say its hotter now than ever. The locals say the heat has come on sooner than normal. Enjoy your holidays I'm back home this weekend
Thanks for popping in Hantslad. Enjoy the rest of your stay.
Even the Goans laughed when I said I was feeling a bit cold
Most people seem to be locking themselves in doors at night afraid to leave the comfort of a/c rooms. I hate a/c but what I wouldn't give to have it fitted at home now. I'm thinking of taking up residence in one of the ATM booths.
GFF xx
