Hi Goancrazy,

April is VERY hot but it's the humidity that gets to you - make sure you book a room with A/C. If you use the search facility on here you'll find lots of other helpful info ref Goa in April.

Have a lovely wedding and honeymoon

Our first trip to Goa was our honeymoon in April/early May 1995 and we had the most fantastic time and completely fell in love with Goa, it is humid but as long as you have a/c. Also the heat is nothing that a cold beer whilst sitting in a beach shack on a gorgeous beach with a sea breeze on your face whilst watching the world go by can't fix :)
p.s. And if you take your sight seeing trips by taxi which is not only cheaper but also very flexable so you can stop for refreshments when ever you want. Have a great wedding and a fantastic honeymoon

Thanks for your replies. We have booked Lagoa Azul. We normally stay at the MD, but facied a change for the honeymoon. Hoping to upgrade to a suite which sounds kinda special, although those lovely warm evenings sat on the beach, feet in the sand and a kingfisher in hand listening to the ocean... aahhh life doesn't get much more special than that. :hyper

I also read this forum almost daily but have never done a post so here goes, We went to goa the first two weeks in april last year and it was still busy, the bars and shacks were all open, the markets was winding down a bit but there was still a lot of stalls there, the heat did not bother us but we did have air con in the room. We are going back on the 16th of april from manchester cant wait staying in calungute, one question where abouts is the pre pay taxi stand as we want to get one rather then taking the bus?

There's two pre-paid stands at Dabolim. Don't use the one inside use the one out side that's directly opposite the exit.... Should cost you about 600-650 Rps.

Here's a tip for anyone on there way out to Goa........bring a couple of tins of Magicool with you because it really is too humid. Even the locals are complaining. You can't even manage to take cold showers because the water comes from tanks up on the roofs and has been boiled in the sun all day.......oh well, I suppose it's better than snow!!

:wow Bring it on GFF!!!! I dont remember ever being too hot, not once in my whole life!!!!
Even the Goans laughed when I said I was feeling a bit cold :rofl

Gemma, if you really do like it hot get to Goa ASAP. I was in a packed bar on Monday night and the sweat was pumping out of me (that's unusual for me - like you I get cold in Goa sometimes). It seemed to cool down a bit yesterday but the heat is on again this morning!!! We're all praying for rain at the moment in the hope that the heat will subside.
Most people seem to be locking themselves in doors at night afraid to leave the comfort of a/c rooms. I hate a/c but what I wouldn't give to have it fitted at home now. I'm thinking of taking up residence in one of the ATM booths.
