When It Rains!!!

You could visit the Guimar Pyramids discovered by Thor Heyerdal or go up to Candelara and view the Black Madonna reputedly found by the original inhabitants (The Guanches) and venerated for years before the Spanish invasion. You can access both from the TF1.

oh no....we're going for a week on 6th february.

When we went last year at the same sort of time, it rained lots.....we had booked a trip to Jungle Park Zoo and it poured..... the animals didn't mind though, although they had to cancel the birds of prey show :( . we were wearing some "emergency ponchos" we had bought in resort...like colourful bin bags with a hole in....don't recommend them!!!!

I guess if you have got a car, you should go up Mount Teide above the clouds!!!

I had hoped the weather would be better this year...the only consolation is that when the sun DOES come out, it is hot and things dry up fast......but we'll pack our cagoules this year :?

hope you manage to have a good time

I just got back on Fri & the weather was glorious 26-28C during the day & 19-20C at night, we had a little light rain on one morning but that was all. We all have fab tans so try not to worry what to do in the rain & just head for the beach, I hope you both get the weather we did & have a great time :)

Hi

There have been really bad storms over the weekend in Tenerife. Locals and ex pats had to batten down the hatches. Also regarding going above the clouds to Tiede, at the moment Tiede is covered in snow.

I have been to Tenerife in February before (2004) and had a week of clear blue skies so I would just wait and see what happens, you can't trust forecasts.

when it rains I usually find a nice bar with a lovely cocktail menu and wait for the sunshine to return, as it doesn't take long in tenerife.

bluepeterno1, yes, your parco aguilas (sp?) is the same as my Jungle park......is OK in the rain, but better if you have a proper waterproof and some warmer clothes....

as i said, the animals didn't mind the rain, we had a lovely frogs' chorus :) but the bird shows were cancelled......

I came back a week ago having had two days and nights of rain and some very high winds at other times, quite strange.
We were above the clouds on Teide for the Friday rain but Saturday it poured down all over the island and snowed heavily in the crater and blocked some roads overnight. It was still snowing on Sunday morning, some great photo opportunities but it was FREEZING.........!! we headed down to the sun and met the rest of Tenerife heading up towards the top for a day of skiing, snowballs and sledging. It is the first time I have ever seen clouds above Teide, we usually go there to escape the weather. It's just pot luck, the week before had been great.
