Hi Folks
Could someone please tell me exactly where El Fanar Beach is? I've seen it recommended a few times and also a restaurant that is there. I am staying in the Ras um sid area. Is it walkable or a cab ride?
Thanks Briar. I knew I could rely on you. It sounds just our kind of place.
Thanks again. I am sure we wil try it there. We are only B&B in the hotel.
Yes we hope to eat out most evenings Briar, although we are only there for a week, so all recommendations will be greatfullly received.
As for other places to stay, I would recommend sinai star for great fish and Masrien for meat - both in old sharm. Another favourite of mine there is El Housen, its a bit hard to give directions, but if you ask someone in old sharm they could tell you. Or in Naama bay i like Dananeer for steak.

El Fanar is a short walk -still doesn't stop the taxi's from trying though
We ate there a couple of times very nice food but the portion size were small even for Steph on Weightwatchers
So we ended up having all the starters and main and pudding and yes it was worth it
We also got there before sunset and sat outside in the bar area to watch the sunset
Enjoy yourself
I'm staying at the rennaisance golden view beach, will I be able to walk it then? Dont mind if I have to have everything on the menu so long as its nice. Love the picture it will be worth it for the sunset alone.

Any closer and you'd be able to chuck rocks
Am I next door to the hilton waterfalls then? if so has it got any restaurants that are worth trying, or is it an AI that I wont be able to get in?
The Waterfalls had a couple of building sites between it it's not AI the only restaurant worth anything in it was the Italian restaurant so the El Fanar is tops we didn't like the other restaurants in the hotel as there are better in Naama Bay
