hi
& im a bit embarrassed writing this post BUT i quite fancy going to the dudsagar falls when we go back in march and im just wondering if theres anywhere nearby that we can stop for a beer on the way in to see them or back............now i know you're all thinking omg what a b***y alcoholic!!! but its just that if we go anywhere & my o/h doesnt have the option of getting an alcoholic beveridge somewhere within 30 mins or so of where we have gone he gets SO grumpy! even if he doesnt really want a beer its just the knowing that he cant get one that makes his face turn into something resembling a cats behind!
hes not an alcy either ( im sure your all not convinced!!!!!!!) but can be shall we say difficult! at times if theres not a bar in the horizon!!
now i dont expect that a national park & renouned beauty spot has provisions for someone such as my o/h but im just asking to let myself know what i may be in for if we go!
thanks
You are not allowed to take plastic into the national park, this includes water. There is a small place halfway to the falls where you can get a drink, not all the jeeps stop there, but if you ask should be ok.
Suggest you take a six pack of Kingfishers, an opener and some ice, this should keep him going.
yes when you actually get to the start of the falls the place were you get herded into the 4x4sish theres various outlets for kingfisher even feni even after the 20 min drive through the jungle to the falls there are guys there goin around selliing cold drinks and beers hope this helps you out steve
thanks so much................looks like alcoholic anonymous & missus will be seeing the falls after all
Last year when we visited the falls...out of nowhere a guy turned up with a plastic case with ice cold Kings....a bit expensive but well worth it....
thanks
Hi - when we went last year, our jeep driver stopped off about half way up at this place that sold drinks. Everyone else we saw was just driving past so don't know how well known this place is. We think it may have been a relative of our tour guide or driver but we stopped there on the way up and back down for a couple of very strong cashew fenis! You could always ask your driver if he knows of the place. We also had drinks while drying off on the rocks after our dip in the falls.
Hi millym if you go by local tour rep it takes longer as when we went with daytrippers it stopped at each hotel and seemed to take forever it sure was a long day,if i had to do again i would hire my own taxi for the day, on the bus it took a few hours, but then again you and your hubby have the same thoughts as me so if i took a taxi and stopped at every inn on the way it would probley take me 3 or 4 days
To be honest i wouldn't bother going at all! It's a waste of time, money and a day really! I was there last week and it was a total rip off! The falls were not as i thought, quite small and a good trek for older people! If you like a drink you should stay at the shack as most all in our group of 7 people were wondering what the fuss of the falls was all about. However been once wont go back!
When we went in November, it was fabulous.
The only thing that spoilt the day was that we were not told that after the falls you went to a Zoo. It had already been a long hot sticky day and the last thing we wanted to do was to wander around the grounds of a zoo (we were not allowed to look at the animals).

only 3 out of about 10 pics uploaded, will try again. andy
thanks
Visited the falls in December last year and was very impressed and will be going again in March but have heard that they are not at there best at this time of year due to a smaller flow of water? Can anyone clarify this please. Thanks Lenny.
Only saw the falls in April but they were spectacular then so can't imagine what they'd be like in December!
