hi everyone, we're thinking of booking a holiday to Menorca staying at the Girasols Garden apartments in Son Bou.
My parents and my sisters family (including a 3 yr old and a 10 month old) would also be staying there.
Has anyone stayed there and what did you think of it ?
Is it suitable for my parents who dont want lots of noise and is there things to do for the young children ?
many thanks,
Emma
http://www.menorcarentals.com/imagenes/mapa-g.jpg. The Girosols Gardens is marked in blue on that map (zone 5).
I researched to go to Son Bou last year (but for 2 adults and 1 child it worked out quite expensive and we ended up in Cala N Bosch). During that research, I found this description of the area which is quite useful.

If you go to the Thomsons website they have a little video of the resort which shows you around. I fully intend to go here but will have to wait until next year when I can persuade my sister and her kids to come along with us !!
Hope that helps.
The Girosols Gardens is part of a larger complex comprising San Jaime Complex (Thomsons) and the Son Bou Gardens (First Choice). This is a link to a map of the whole complex I researched to go to Son Bou last year (but for 2 adults and 1 child it worked out quite expensive and we ended up in Cala N Bosch). During that research, I found this description of the area which is quite useful.
Don't be put off by the size, as once you get there you will see that the accomodation is nicely spaced out with lots of greenery and grassy areas for the kiddies to play on.
Zone 3 has a pool, bar/restaurant, tennis courts and a little kiddies playground
Zone 4 has a little playground, supermarket & shops, and is home to the club San Jaime which is under separate management and therefore charges to apply to the facilities, but it has a pool, bar, restaurant, internet cafe, water slides, maze etc.
Zone 5 has a pool and bar/restaurant
The walk to the resort centre is 2-15 mins depending upon which zone you're in (there is a little land train that you can catch though). The place is certainly not that large that you feel "out of it" if you do stay in zone 5 though. This is the quieter zone of the three.

If anyone has been to these apartments, Please post a review on the following link
I have a few videos and some pictures which I hope you find handy on this page here (click me)
Try clicking on the tab 'map location' for an idea of where the apartments are. If you have questions ask here and I'll do my best.
