Hi all!
I am looking to go to the Sunrock hostel in June.
By the way, it seems that there are only 2 hostels in Corfu (the other one is the pink palace which I shall avoid) but, with a budget of 25 euros per night and travelling alone I dont have much choice....
Apparently this hostel is located in the sunny Pelecas beach which is apparently, I quote, "famed for it's amazing view of the sunset" but I was wondering if this beach is nice during daytime....because I have searched quite few websites and it does not look like so
Another minus of this location is that, I was told, the nightlife is not so great as there are no cocktail bars etc.
Where is the nearest place from Agios that has a good nightlife?? Will it be Corfu city or is there anywhere nearer?
I am planning to rent a scooter (I dont have any driving licence) and eventually go out at night somewhere near by and come back early in the morning....do you think this is feasible or am I insane ??
Hope you can help me,
Thanks!!, Pandoro

Spend your time soaking up the sun on the terrace at Sunrock and wander down in the morning and evening to enjoy the empty sea and sand.
If you tire of your backpacking co-guests you can try Spiros Taverna at the other end of the beach - relations of the folks at Sunrock - where you'll sometimes find an eclectic mix. Avoid the taverna below Sunrock unless you have a big budget!
All the nightlife you'll need is up the hill in Pelekas itself. Can be laid back, can be lairy. Starts getting busier towards the end of June. There's a free minibus service up and down which also goes to Glyfada. Pelekas Cafe is highly recommended. For clubbing the best bet is to get into Corfu Town or to Gouvia on the other side of the island.
You may struggle to rent a scooter without some form of licence. I wouldn't be driving at night unless you are used to the poor standards of both roads and road users!
