You might be better hiring a car and driver for the day. The cost is fairly reasonable and the driver would be able to find a guide at the pyramids for you.
Have a look in the Cairo Yellow Pages (available on internet) and look there.

It's only 20LE to get into the one next door and I was told there was little difference to the interior.
