Off to Calangute on Friday 11th Feb, staying at Osborne (2nd year)
and what to know if anybody knows the cost of decent sunglasses in Goa, are they cheaper in UK or Goa?
there is a rayban shop but not much price difference if memory serves,
suggest buying them here,
if anyone knows different please put me right..
Had a look in the opticians when we were there and not much choice. Also tried the designer outlets, addidas etc.. but same again not much choice, not too bad with price, but i would stick with duty free at uk airport - you know what you are getting. If you stop at Baharain have a look there.
yeah mate id get some from bahrain airport as in goa they do tend to be fakes
BOB
Genuine fakes though If you go to Panjim or anyone staying South, Margao you will get good sunglasses cheaper than the UK. Or for anyone in Cavelossim Saga sells genuine (really) designer goods.
Some better than others.
The street up from Calangute Beach main steps have the best choice.
There is a walk in shop that had sunglasses only which sold good standard fakes for 250/300.
Anywhere in the world, if you try on the Oakleys you will know in a second if you have the real deal.
I am always breaking my sunglasses and I never pay more than 150 rupees for new ones, and they always assure me that they are genuine Ray Bans. What more could you ask for?
BOB
do they come with pieces of tin foil to put over the lens ,to keep out the uv rays as well
I found that different branches had different ranges, so it's not a case of going into any Romano's or Agnelo's and being able to compare and barter.
The OH got some great Police sunglasses in Panjim but paid about £70, I got some top quality metal Raybans in Margao for £40.
The best deals are if you get an eyetest, prescription lenses and sunglasses. Set them all down on the counter and start knocking the price down.
