Flew out on the 3 february with Monarch decided to book premier after flying the last 7 times being cramped. was seated in the middle 4 R sat in the aisle seat I got sat next to a old gent who decided that he'd rest his arms on both rest and spread the free paper out and read, his arms didn't leave this position all flight my right side cramped and unmoving. The crunch came when he decided he'd sit with his legs wide apart with one of them in my foot part, yes i'd had enough and stamped on his foot no word were exchanged but he moved his leg. Well after the lovely flight (not) arrived safe through immigration great there getting better, that is untill you get to collect the luggage. Two flights in at the same time chaos, never mind were here and it's hot. Got to resort just after lunch hotel in nice location 2 mins walk from beach got shown to our room (attic really) block B room 12. Shock we'd paid Cosmos 1800.00 for this room with a wicker wardrobe no drawers single beds two plastic chairs and wicker table, a balcony door that didn't close, the bathroom was even worse window wouldn't close the bottom of the toilet was full of solid need i say more and the shower head was brown (rust) we have stayed in cheeper better places in Goa. Decided we'd speak to rep in morning and get a different room. Quick shower ,went for a walk changed some money exchange rate was good 86 Rupees from elephant shop walked along beach saw them working on the old ship (what will happen when they move it you won't be able to get your bearings). Quick shower again, lovely smell of rust got to reception met our friends who were just coming back from a 3 day trip to Taj Mahal was great to see them. went to have a look at their room same block room 1 was a palace compared to ours living room with tv posh table and chairs and a sink area, seperate bedroom still same wardrobe, nice clean bathroom we were definaitaly going to change. went to calangute first drink always in jerrys bar then to verundavan for meal. Monday morning went to breakfeast people had moved out of B3 saw manager and we moved in, felt alot happier. Sat waiting for the usual toast, juice and tea or coffee our friends said don't expect all 3 if you get 2 of the b/feast items think your self lucky and he was right it was a standing joke for the rest of the hols, but yes it wore thin the last 5 days we didn't bother as it wound me up. back to tuesday morning pipe that came from toilet cistern to toilet came off put it back on told room cleaner. Got back from beach toilet still same or well it is goa had shower used toilet and the whole cistern fell of wall went to see managerhe said he'd send a plumber 5 mins later in came the manager, the chef from the kitchen with his uniform on and a room cleaner the chef fixed the cistern back to the wall refixed pipes and then went back to the kitchen who said they can't multi task. Decided not to eat at hotel that night (wonder why) but went for a drink poolside orded cocktails 45mins later said cocktails appeared(goan maybe time). 8th of feb sat waiting for a coffee heard lots of pots smashing looked behind lattice fence into kitchen area the gardener and the guy who made the toast (sometimes) were fighting. The room cleaners were all great guys rooms cleaned every day clean towels every day made into different shapes, but the resturant service was the worst we have experienced ever spoke to the rep about it and she said complain to the manager as she had tried but was getting nowhere, the hotel gave us a questionaire to fill in and I didn't hold back. The morning we left they said we had an unpid bill for 350 rupes for a snack we had, after a few choice words they said they were sorry it was a a mistake. We ate out at Casa seashells, seashell inn, plantain leaf, viva goa, ruffles, infanteria, lovley salad at chocolaites, drank alot in different bars. Used the same shack as last year nice and quite sea and sand. Sadly this will be our last time in Goa it has lost a bit of that magic we fell in love with, years ago there wasn't the fights that we saw this time between english tourists, you never saw young lads walking up and down with bottles of kingfisher in their hands,we even saw men sat eating on a night with shorts and no shirts on drunk and shouting and it was only early evening. The tuk tuk drivers are getting as greedy as the taxi drivers they were charging 100rups to calangute from candolim one wanted to charge us 400 rups for a return journey to mapsa market so we went on the bus. so sad to see it getting spoilt.
edit to add
forgot to say same slow proccess getting checked in flight was on time got same seats coming back R decided to take inside seat and regretted it the lady who sat next to him spilled over the arm rest onto him what a waste of time paying premier upgrade for more room. Last monarch flight we do
