Hi
Still can't decide what apartments to stay in this year, i have found two good deals on the Paraiso and the Palmera Playa, one is a Protur and the other Hipotel, we stayed in a protur last year and found the standards to be very high. Is there anyone who has stayed in both and can give me some feedback for both. All of the reviews are mainly postive for both of them, only concern i have for the palmeras playa is that a few people have mentioned that the pools are quite shaded as there are lot of trees growing around them, is this still the case or have they been cut down? Any advise welcome
thanks

Definitely Palmeras Playa - it's fab !
Have you stayed at both apartments or just the palmeras playa? I am slightly concerned that the pool is shaded for most of the day? and also looking at the photos it looks a bit like everything is crammed in a small space? please advise?
thanks

Hello, as you may have read, we are going to the Paraiso for the third year running. Half of our pool is in the shade by about 2pm, the first year we went we were actually setting the alarm to get up to get beds on sun side. For the last two years we havent bothered. By then we are ready to stretch our legs so just go onto the beach. As its right on the beach there is no hassle, just leave your stuff by pool and spend some time on the beach. We love the Paraiso, exceptionally clean, alright basic apartments, but to wake up to that view each morning, you cant beat it.
What floor did you have, to have a sea view? We have two small children so would not want to be too high up? On the pictures in the skytours brochure, it doesn't look like there is anything that would shade the pool? Is the swimming pool big enough for the amount of guests that can stay at one time, i know photos are very deceiving but it doesn't look that big?

The first time we were 2nd floor from top, in the corner which wasnt great cos we were very close to next apartment coming out of the corner (if you know what I mean). we went away knowing exactly what room we wanted - 210 - and booked direct with hotel for the following year. this year we are going with friends with a 2 year old so we have requested 109 and 110, on the ground floor. To be honest you would really be unlucky here not to get a sea view. By booking direct we have saved ourselves £600, and that includes the cost of a car for two weeks.
The pool gets shaded cos the sun comes up from the sea and goes over the back of the complex, but not till 2ish, probably later if you go later in the year (we always go end May beginning June). This really isnt a problem though cos you can just go onto the beach. We gave up fighting the you-know-whos on the second visit, although last year Skippy the entertainment guy DID remove their towels which they put down whilst having their breakfast - we still couldnt be bothered to go over the other side, why spoil the holiday getting stressed when that beautiful beach is a stone throws away?
Hi Emma, sorry fogot to mention pool. It has never seemed overcrowded to us when we go, even with inflatables etch in there.
thanks for all the information. So just to double check the Paraiso does have ground floor apartments, looking at the photos i thought the lowest rooms would be on the first floor. We are looking to go around the end of june beginning of July as this is the only time we can get off work.
Thanks once again, any other info you would like to share would be appreciated
thanks
emma
Yes, deffo rooms on the ground floor. We dont think you will be disappointed if you go here, very clean public areas, typical spanish style apartments, nothing fancy. One other thing, the food from the snack bar isnt all that great, but if you walk round the corner from the pool a lady rents that space and is fab for lunchtime snacks, her egg and bacon sarnies became a favourite!
