I rather like Paella but I don't like the way it is presented sometimes, you know, the way they display the prawns, with there little eyes looking at you begging not to be ripped apart
youve got to try somthing at least once that what holidays are for
We go on holiday for more than sea and sun. We enjoy trying to explore the places we visit. we also like to eat the local food where possible.
Some I admit we do not want to try again, others we look forward to and try to replicate at home. I was not keen on Feta cheese until we had a dish in Crete last year. Now we enjoy it.
If I wanted to eat fish & chips all the time I would stay at home.
Give it a go at least once - you never know it might become a favourite.

at caz! i can always try a bit if i dont like it there are plenty of ganits im going with who will take it off my hands!! thanks hi caz x
Suggest you pay for a real paella - not a pre-prepared, frozen version. Ask how long you will have to wait for it .... anything less than 20 mins and you're buying a prepack. Good paella is wonderful, and VERY filling, so you may find that the restaurant will need to do it for a minimum of 2 persons ........ again single portions suggest prepack ................
Depends on where you are going but at some specialist places you need to order a large paella 24 hours before you want to eat it, if they are going to do something a bit special.
off to alcudia!! like i say if i dont like it one of my brothers or my fiance will! i want to try calamari aswel anyone had that?
I've had it in batter/breadcrumbs, like onion rings only much more chewy!
Not a lover of crustaceans I only like the meat versions of it.
I tried it at a restaurant. It was cooked in front of you. The smooth bits are okay but I just couldn't cope with the tenticles and had to excuse myself whilst I spat it out. Yak!!!
One thing about paella, is that when it's done, it's done.
You should never be late for a dinner date when paella is on the menu.
Calamares (squid)...ugh, no thankyou, but I have had fried baby octopus (pulpo) cut into small pieces then fried in a kind of "fish shop" batter...that was quite nice. (Chopitos Txopitos)
Sanjiiiiiiiiiiii
I don't like paella but I do like squid and kalamares.
I like paella and make it at gome. It is very easy to make and you can buy all the ingrediants in most major supermarkets. You can also buy fresh calimari from your local wet fish shop where we live. But I do think that eating local dishes in the country it originated always tastes better somehow, or is that an imagination thing>
Please remember that this forum is for general holiday advice, enqueries and hints and tips.
It is at times difficult to draw a line on what is and what is not holiday related and I feel this subject is the wrong side of that line.
