Well as many of you know I have been planning a trip to Hong Kong, flying via Hong Kong oasis, now before I booked up I just had to check up on my speciality meals, my partner being a vegetarian and myself having a nut allergy, only to be told that they don't offer Nut Free speciality meal, I find it ridiculous in this day and age that Nut Free meals are not being offered, this has really annoyed me
What a shame - maybe it's because they are a budget airline.
It's been a couple of years since I made the enquiry to an airline, but my understanding (being overly cautious) is that no airline will guarantee a nut free meal, and insists you take your own food on board. It's a lazy (and cheap) way of covering themselves.
Have you actually got nut free meals from airlines before?
P.S On my recent Malaysian Airlines flight I was given a bag of peanuts with a big warning on the front 'Warning: contains nuts'. A case of stating the obvious??
