Dress code for all maldivian Islands is very casual - shorts and T shirts (or possibly short sleeved shirts) for men and skirts or cropped trousers and strappy tops for ladies at night. Weather will be very hot with the occasional torrential downpour i am sure. We've been 3 times before (not to Dhonveli though) - the last of which was may last year and the temp was usually aroung 35 degrees during the day and still 28/29 degrees at night so no cardigan needed!

Remember - just 1 pair of flip flops each is all that is needed for footwear. Most of the islands have sand floors in bars and restaurants to walking in anything other than flat sandals is nigh on impossible.

Do not overpack - my biggest tip for the maldives!

as with earlier response most islands are casual , although it has been suggested for gentleman to wear long trousers and shirts in the evening, I would suggest simple smart casual in the evenings, We have managed with half crop trousers or smart shorts in the evening
The last two years its been warm with occassional rain but no need for a cardigan
I dont have a problem with over packing at 10kg of my luggage allowance is taken up with dive gear or it doesn't leave much for any clothing
