Hi all

We stayed at the Newton Inn at north point. Hotel was fine for the price, clean and comfortable and with typical Hong Kong street life of a lively market right outside.

We had the most amazing time there. I loved the hustle and bustle of H K life, all those sky scrapers and walkways and the obsession with escelators everywhere.

I think my favourite day was the Peak, there is a lovely walk around the top which is absolutly breathtaking and so peaceful. We also enjoyed the museums, the night market at temple street and the series of never ending escelators that seem to go on for ever.

We loved the dolphin encounter at Ocean Park and had fun on the rollercoasters. The aquariums are very good, especially the jellyfish.

Lantau was lovely, enjoyed seeing the buddah and the temple was really pretty - just don't try and use the bathrooms, not unless you're very brave. use the ones by the bus stops instead. The cable car was something to experience too.

While we were there we walked and walked but loved it. We took time to stip and absorb the atmosphere in the zoological gardens and the walled city at Kowloon. Loved the whole buzz of the place.

Top quality entertainment at Wan Chi, we were sat in one of the bars watching this rather fierce old lady trying to physically drag every westoner that went by into the bar.

Light show seen from Kowloon is wonderful. They are currently redeveloping the waterfront on H K island but I'll be back when it's done to see the improvements.

One amusing point, I live in Southampton right opposite the docks and of course I see all the liners coming in and out, the most annoying of which is the QE2, due to its loud horn. What's the first thing I see, coming up the water on the first day on the ferry boat going to Kowloon?? The QE2, amazing go half way round the world and see the same thing that I see out my window every few weeks

the Peak is well worth the visit. Our second time the look out platforms were closed and major work was being done(April). Has it all been finished now?
We loved the History Museum- went in to avoid a heavy shower and ended up spending hours there
I would have loved to have seen the QE2!
Would you mind doing a review of your hotel here for us? You would be the first reviewer for it!

Yes, the peak viewing platform is complete now, it's lovely up there. We did the museums too. History was good and the science was great fun. Well worth the entry price

Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I must admit I've kinda fallen in love with HK and it's so tempting especially with the flight market opening up a bit BUT I must visit some other places on my holiday list before going back!!
