Would anyone know if there are any local agencies that organise trips to ,say, Luxor for Valley of Kings etc and also cairo for the Pyramids.
I am sure the holiday rep at the Hyatt Regency would jump with glee at the opportunity of arranging it BUT always at an inflated price!
Anyone have any views or comments on this. Thanks
I stayed at the Hyatt in December 06 and visited israel - a truly amazing experience- through the T/O. I would advise travelling through a T/O if you do intend to make this trip to take in Eilat, the Dea Sea and Jerusalem as travelling across the border is just a total nightmare. Trips are available to visit Jordan/Petra, St Catherine's Monastary and Dahab shopping. If you wish to go to Luxor or Cairo, you will need a different entry visa card. These are issued upon arrival at Taba airport and you will be asked Sinaii only or whether you intend to go to Cairo.
As i do not know enough about Egypt, i was happy to pay the prices charged by the operator knowing that i would be protected by them. In the event, i was glad i did as i got stopped for every search going across Israel, even having my passport taken and a gun waved at me without warning. This was completely terrifying and i think would have been more so if i was travelling independently.
Happy holidays...

Thanks for that. What sort odf prices are we looking at for the various trips on offer?
varies but on average approx £75-£80 for full day trips. You leave the hotel at about 3.00am and don't get back until night.
There are other trips for about £40, such as going into the mountains with a quad bike excursion but i didn't bother with that...
They also prefer to be paid on US $'s.. maybe it is a better exchange rate..
